Top Broadband Providers in North Norfolk
Broadband usage in the UK is on the rise, despite gloomy economic goings-on in most other industries and it seems we are unable to still our expanding desire for the internet and the world of opportunity which it affords us. By
2012 the government plans to install a broadband connection in every UK household, running at 2Mbps or more, though some experts predict that this is a fairly conservative estimate of the minimum speed. The UK has over 17 million broadband users and North Norfolk has a wide variety of services on offer and many different broadband providers vying for your custom. Here`s a quick look at the top broadband providers in North Norfolk and why you should consider them when choosing a broadband package.
TalkTalk - TalkTalk have broken boundaries in broadband by offering one of the cheapest services around. You`ll need to switch your home phone service from BT and pay TalkTalk line rental, but the costs are comparable and the broadband savings you`ll make are significant. For the first 3 months your broadband will be completely free and after that costs are small for an 8Mbps connection with an 18 month minimum contract length. You can even augment your service with a boost pack, increasing the speed or the monthly data allowance amongst other things.
Virgin Media - Whilst cable broadband isn`t available in all areas, Virgin Media also offer a top rate non-cable connection for customers with BT lines, running at up to 20Mbps. Prices start from as little as £5 a month with a data cap of 10GB and most broadband packages come hand in hand with a home phone package, offering free off peak calls to UK landline numbers.
BT - Whilst most providers offer free wireless routers for new customers, no other provider gives you one that is so powerful. The Home Hub from BT offers the best wireless range and the fastest transfer speeds and it`s available free on their basic package which includes an 8Mbps connection and 10GB of monthly data usage.
Plusnet - Plusnet put customer service very high on their list of priorities and they`ve built up a reputation through word of mouth rather than advertising assaults. They also offer the UK`s cheapest annual cost with their 18 month contract for a connection running at 8Mbps with a free wireless router. A good package for beginners looking for value for money.
If you`re looking into broadband and struggling to choose a provider the only sensible way to make that choice is to compare broadband online. First decide the kind of service you`d like and have your postcode and telephone number to hand, then use a comparison site to sift through all of the deals and providers available in your area. This will not only save you time and effort but will almost certainly save you money as there are loads of online only offers giving customers bonuses like reduced costs for the first months.
It is also worth keeping in mind that mobile broadband usage (which allows you to access the internet on the move) is on the rise all the time, providing a very useful addition or even as an alternative to fixed-line broadband. But do check the mobile coverage in your area before signing a contract as the mobile coverage in some areas of North Norfolk is not all it could and should be.
